M'Cormick, agent for the Union Steamship Company, was attacked with fever and died to-day, He got wet through boarding a steamer on Saturday. Dunedin, April 20. • A criminal prosecution for libel against Hitchcock at the instance of Mr Quinn, the master of the Benovelent institution, is now on. The defence challenged twelve jurors. TiMABU, April 20. Great indignation is expressed here at the Harbor Board dispensing with the services of Captain Mills after 17 years service as Harbor Master. Wellington, April 20. Nothing fresh is stirring to-day in the political situation* "Whitaker is expected to arrive in the Hinemoa about 6 o'clock this evening. The Hon. J. Hall is much better to-day, and expects to leave for Canterbury on Friday (this day).
