(FROM OTJR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.) Chbistchurch, April 24. The Exhibition Jurors were chosen to-day.-Another burglary was committed last night. Fagan left this morning for Dunedin, where he runs Burke for the mile championship and £100 a-side. An asylum attendant was fined £5 to-day for striking a patient. Auckland, April 24. A match over the Steeple-chase Course has been arranged between Te Wlriti and Catch 'Em for next Saturday for £100 a-side. Wellington, April 24. The members of the Ministry have presented Mrs Hall with a handsome piece of plate, in token of the cordial relations that have existed between
Mr Hall and the Ministry, and also their appreciation of the courtesy and kindness which they have uniformly received from Mrs Hall. The Hinemoa left for New Plymouth last night to take Te Whiti, Tohu, and other native chiefs, who are awaiting trial, to Christchurch. April 25. The Governor will shortly leave for Fiji to collect evidence on his own behalf in an action now pending against him. A destructive fire occurred in Pan-ama-street this morning but was confined to the building where it originated which was totally destroyed. Advices to Dunedin report that the Union Co. steamer Manipouri left Lisbon on the 17th inst The Mahinepori sailed from the Clyde for Port Chalmers on the 22nd inst, and the Omapawa was launched at Dumbarton on the 14th inst Patea, April 24. A serious mishap occurred to Cobb's coach at the bottom of Patea Hill today. The coach was going on steadily, when the leaders shied at a dray hi the road and the coach went over a slight embankment and capsized. It was full at the time. Mr Hutchison, solicitor of Wanganui, was seriously injured, and a young lad sustained a serious scalp wound, and is not expected to recover, A number of others are more or less injured. No blame is attached to the driver. Westpobt, April 24. The body of Hans Christian, watchmaker, a Norwegian by birth, was found in the surf on the north beach yesterday afternoon. Deceased's mind had been affected by excessive drinking lately, but how he got into the water is unknown. He formerly worked in Christchurch and Dunedin. Dunedix, April 24. The graves of the Tararua victims at Fortrose cemetery are reported to be in an awfully neglected condition. A subscription started to remedy this and provide a monument is suggested. New Plymouth, April 24. Two boys named Harvey were drowned while birthing in the Patea river, near Stratford.
