LYELL MINING.

(Times.) CRCESUS. Friday, May 36. This company's No 2 level contract will be completed by the end of the present month. A further distance of about 60 feet will bring the tunnel under where the winze from No. 1 level was started. I understand that it is intended to crosscut east and west, as it is thought that the tunnel has been driven alongside of the line of reef for some distance. The track of reef which was followed for a good length was left about 70 or 80 feet back, and was bearing to the westward of the line of tunnel. The contract for construction of paddock and quartz pass over No. 3 level was finished this week, and is a really substantial piece of work.
