UNITED ALPINE.
This company's battery is now at a standstill. The stamps will remain idle until the re-timbering of No. 5 is completed ; in the meantime the company's mine will be placed in as efficient order as possible, and upon crushing being resumed it is not probable that any interruption will take place for some time. At No. 6 level the usual good progress is being made with the driving, the contract now being in about 360 feet.
