UNITED VICTORY.
The half-yearly meeting of this Company was held at the Office, Lyell, on Saturday lost. It was decided to increase
the directory to seven members, in lieu of five as formerly. The following were elected upon the board for the ensuing term. Messrs T. W. Hungerford, J. B. Thompson, W. M. Hodgkins, and R. M'Laren of Dunedin, and Messrs Riley, French, and M 'Donnell, of Lyell. Messrs Bartleman and Simpson, of Dunedin, were appointed auditors. At a meeting of members of the new directory, held the same evening, it was resolved to remove the legal management to Dunedin, and M r Montagu Pym was appointed to the charge of the company's affairs. The company's stocks are now very largely held in Dunedin, and the shareholders there appear to think their interests will be better served by having the management in their midst It remains to be seen whether this step will prove conducive to the future prosperity of the companies.
