Six men are to commence work on "this lease early in the month. Mr P. Hunt has during the past few weeks been procuring a supply of timber, so that no del lays need occur for some time. The first operations will probably be to extend the old Alpine No. 1 level, which was in the early days driven to the boundary of the Captain Cook lease, in which a good body of gold bearing stone was left.
