UNITED VICTORY

No time is being lost in placing this mine in working order, and a full complement of hands is employed on the different works in and about the claim. In the interior, Mr Cosgrove is opening out an intermediate level north and south. The reef here is really of excellent appearance, and will average fully 2ft. Gin. in thickness, carrying a good show of gold. Between the intermediate level and No. 1 tunnel there is a depth of backs of about 75 feet, and a similar depth between the former and No. 2. level. In No. 1 level the chamber over the winze has been enlarged to give room for working. Tenders close on Saturday for construction, of water-race from the right-hand branch of New Creek, to increase the supply of water for the turbine. The actual length of the race will be about 54 chains, and its gauge will bo Din. x 18in, which will carry a very considerable supply of water, and shouUl moot all lvquhvmt'iits.
