JUST-IN-TIME.
Satitiway, July 31. | Mr R. VV. Raithty, for some years man- j ager and amalgamator at the Inangahua I Public Crushing Cyinpany's battery, has been offered, and has accepted the position of amalgamator and manager to the Just-in-Time and Fiery Cross battery, Boatman's. The Company may be congratulated upon securing the services of a gentleman so well qualified for the position as Mr Raithby undoubtedly is. Roberts and party, the contractors for sinking the main shaft, are about starting work, some delay having been occasioned by the difficulty of procuring sawn timber for slabbing up the portion of the shaft already sunk by wages. M'Kenzie and party have now fairly started on the 300 ft. cross-cut, with every prospect of a payable contract. The mine manager with a few hands is starting to break out some j apparently payable stone in the north stopes, and will be guided in the number of men employed by the prospects of the ground as the work proceeds.
