MINING NEWS
THE WEEK. Saturday, September 2. The share-market has continued inactive during the week, and business has throughout been confined to a few favorite lines. Welcomes have again forged into some additional prominence, but so few of the shares are at any time in the market that transactions are necessarily limited. The week's returns show well for the duration of the crushing. The Dark returns are also good for the week, when it is considered that after a general cleaning up a high percentage of amalgam from the succeeding week's crushing is retained by the boxes. The following are the battery returns for the past week : — Welcome : 3390z. of amalgam from GO tons of stone. Keep-it-Dark : 2!)20z. amalgam from 198 tons of stone, (top plates.)
