VICTOR EMANUEL.

The surveyor's report upon this pro.perty is of a decidedly encouraging character. It shows that the reef iv No. 2 level has every appearance of permanence, the walls being well defined, and the usual underly being maintained throughout. He recommends connection of NO3. 1 and 2 levels by means of the rise -which is at present up 24 feet. This will give a depth of 100 feet of backs between the two levels. Levels were taken fora third level, to be driven from New Creek. Its length would be about 000 feet before the reef would be struck, would go some 90 or 100 feet below the Tichborne creek. By means of this level water could be diverted from the Tichborne for the purpose of driving crushing machinery, an excellent site for which is available on the bankß of the New Creek. Before commencing this level, however, Mr Butler rec munends the sinking of a shaft a depth sufficient to prove that the reef lives down in a sufficiently permanent state to warrant the outlay upon the No. 3 level. * r Butler concludes his report as follows: — "Having taken considerable time and trouble in investigating the resources of your mine, I am able to report with confidence that I think there is every prospect of the venture being highly payable when in full working order."
