HE OBJECTS.

The 'fatter of the triplets mentioned in last Mondays- Post is 'evidently one of those" incapable of bearing up under sorrows, especially when they come tandqm, so to speak. In the issue referred to', by the oversight of our foreman, we had the misfortune to publish the birth of said triplet under the head of Amusements. The author of these, interesting triplicates, so far from being, appeased by our apology in the succeeding issue; sends us a protestation full of indignation and cuss words. For instance, among other plaintive conundrums, he asks whether we can see any ' amusement ' in having one's dreams disturbed by three sources of discomfort, instead of the orthodox one allotted to more favored parents, and also whether our idea of entertainment ■ lies in being ' rousted ' out of bed every 1 5 consecutive minutes to hold a sloppy milk bottle in each hand, and one between the knees while you turn on the gas stove with your teeth. He also desires to know whether we suppose there is anything particularly amusing in being called a ' brute ' for not sympathising with three distinot

cases of colic at the sarao time. H*

desires to be informed if there is any thing specially humorous in being literally driven out of one's house by a trio of prolonged shrieks done up in wet flannel. He asks — but that wilf do. We promise not to do so any more — and we won't — San Francisco Post.
