SNOWY RIVER.
Although a considerable number of mining leases have been pegged off and applied for in this district O'Keefe and party of the Hallow Eve Company are the only claimholders who have gone to work in earnest to prospect the lode. They v .avc put a cut in the reef at a shallow level and proved the stone to be solid and well formed, with a very fair sprinkling of fine gold. The reef has now been traced for a considerable distance across the country, and there is little doubt that eventually Snowy will become a very t important mining locality.
