HOSPITAL COMMITTEE,
The monthly meeting of Reefton Hospital Committee was held at the Southern Cross Hotel, on Wednesday evening, 3rd January, 1883. Present : — Messrs Macquarie, (chair) Steele, Beeche, Kater, Patterson and Shaw. The minutes' of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, as also the Surgeon-Superintendent's report. The Visiting Committee reported that they had authorised the Secretary to call foi tenders for additions to kitchen and repairs to verandah, and they had accepted the tender of Mr Wm. Dunn for the work. The House Steward stated that he had received donations of money and goods for the patients Christmas dinner, and had duly acknowledged the same through the press. Accounts presented for payment. £ s. d. Mr Patterson proposed and Mr Kater seconded. "That the Visiting Committee be empowered to get the roof of No. 2 and 3 wards covered with iron, and the necessary spouting, also the interior of the building to be re-papered and put into good order. Carried.
