The Government have sent Home for the necessary materials, machinery etc., required for the lighting of the Houses of Parliament by electricity, as authorised by the House of Representatives last session. In the first instance only the representative chamber and the new corridor, now in course of erection, will be electrically illuminated, but if this acts satisfactorily the plan will be extended to the entire block of buildings.
