DAVD3 O. PRESHAW. THOMAS WATSON. Reefton, 18th January, 1883. REEFTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTION. TO THE HOUSEHOLDERS. nENTLEMEN,— Having determined to contest the election, and take your opinion of the course adopted by myself and others in suspending the Head Teacher, I confidently place myself in your hands, and trust that the result of the poll wiU show that the majority have endorsed our action. The Committee at present in office believe that a change would be benegcial, and, if elected, I will do my utmost to procure a weU-trained and efficient Head Master for the School, and also take immediate steps to get this School District separated from Nelson Board and connected with that of Westland. ROBERT PATTERSON. Reefton, 18th January, 1883. ' REEFTON STATE SCHOOL COMMPTEE ELECTION. TO THE HOUSEHOLDERS. k T the Request of a number of Electors I beg to announce myself as a Candidate for a seat in the Local School Committee at the ensuing Election, which takes place on-- the22nd instant. The very unsatisfactory manner in which the Reefton State School has, in my opinion, been conducted for some time past, induces me to take this step. There are many reasons why this District should be separated from Nelson, and annexed to Westland; notably, our close proximity and easy access to the latter. lam of opinion that the services of the present Head Master should be dispensed with, and those of a more competent teacher secured. And if elected to the important position to which I aspire, I shall use my utmost endeavour to accomplish these, in my opinion, desirable results ; viz., Separation from Nelson, and the deposition of the present Head Master. WILLIAM CAMPBELL. Reefton, 19th January, 1883. REEFTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTION. TO THE HOUSEHOLDERS. GENTLEMEN,— Having been requested by a number of householders to offer myself for election as a"member of the School Committee, I have much pleasure in placing my candidature in your hands, and beg to solicit your support on the day of election. I am, yours respectfully, GEO. B. SHEPHERD. Reefton, January 19th, 1883. REEFTON STATE SCHOOL ELECTION. TO THE RESIDENTS OF REEFTON. BEING one of the present Committee Who believes that a change in the Head Mastership of the Reefton School would be beneficial to the Scholars, - and further, that separation from the Nelson School Board would be alike beneficial to the interests of the School, I request all those who are of a similar opinion to favour me with a share of their support at the ensuing School Election. Yours, respectfully, WILLIAM GARDNER
