GOLDEN FLEECE EXTENDED.
The whole of the air-compressing machinery, with the exception of one or two lengths of piping, has been delivered on the machine site. The air-compressor was the last piece transported, and waa landed on tho ground safely. The fact that the whole of the machinery had to be sleighed a distance of one and a quarter miles, and to an altitude of 1,480 ft, shows that the undertaking was one of some importance, and its successful accomplishment, reflects much credit upon Mr John Trennery, the manager of the company who superintended the work. All diligence will now be used in getting the aircoin pressor in working order. The battery will be set going on Tuesday next on a small crushing of about 150 tons, upon the completion of which a new cylinder end will have to be procured and the piston of the steam engine will require to be* lengthened, so as to act as a compressor. These additions are to be cxc- I cuted in Grey mouth.
