CRŒSUS.

Connection between Nos. I and 2 levels has just been established and the contractors are now finishing up. The block between No. 2 level and No. 1 is now ready for opening out No doubt steps will shortly be taken to rise upon the reef from No. 1 level towards the surface. Very satisfactory progress is being made by the contractors for construction of head-race and paddock, and the men are confident of having the work completed well within the specified time. All the crushing plant has now been delivered, the turbine and fittings having arrived in the early part of the week, and Messrs M'Queen, & Co., have a full staff of hands employed in its erection. The number of men at present employed in connection with this company's works is about 25.
