DAY STAR.

Operations have been resumed on this lease. Two men have started to drive upon a track of reef, about four feet wide, which was intersected duning the progress of the level lately driven. The formation here is an intermixture of quartz, pug, and slate, and a small prospect of gold has been obtained. It is very probable that after being followed a short distance it may develop into a defined body of reef. The stituation is about on a line with the north reef lately worked . by the United Italy Company.
