Considerable annoyance is felt at the non-arrival of the balance of the machinery, and gear from Dunediri, and the completion of the works will* in all probability, be thrown back in consequence. The freight is on the way, but can hardly come to hand for a week or so, and in the meantime the* labor hands have been reduced, asj fewer men can have everything tin-) ished by the time the machinery arrives. The paddock has been commenced, the timber for which js being' c'uiTaT the Wealth of Nations saw-! mill. There is now about 600 tons} ±rt*#ti<sTfo-^Tk&-^*^n* .wife ready for being put through directly the battery is ready to start crushing, and the faces of stone showing leave no room to doubt that the stampers will be kept constantly going for a great length of time. There have bden so many reverses in the field of late that the starting of crushing by this oompany is the more eagerly looked forward to revive things.
