The track of stone running south which has been met with in tho ci'osscut has now been followed for a distance of 88ft The formation consists of a mixture of sandstone, slate, and ; quartz, running between well-defined walls, about 3ft. apart These indications are regarded as highly favorable. Th« fineness of the weather, and improved facilities for foot traffic by the pack track now in course of construcj tion by the County from Boatman's to j Larrys, has induced a few parties to j turu their attention to surface prospect- ' ing in the vicinity of this mine. This j | portion of the district having hitherto I j been so difficult of access has been ne- ! ; glected y prospectors, so that there is : j a fair chance of something good -esulting from the presqut movement.
