Tho trestle which gave way in the j middle of the week was re-erected by, : Friday evening, and everything was ready for a fresh start to-day. There; being by this time* something over 100 j tons of stone in the machine paddock, ! the waterwas turned into the turbiue and \ the 20 stampers were in full operation. The battery was kept going till nightfall, when, there appearing no likliliood of any further interruption, the stampers were stopped to lay down the full complement of blankets on the tables, and generally to prepare for crushing in earnest The tramway, however, was kept going, and yesterday morning (Sunday) there was 800 tons of stone on hand. The battery was accordingly started at midnight last night upon its momentuous and, as we fully believe, prosperous errand.
