GLOBE.
The tramway having been brought to a stand-still in order to place the new clips on the wire, the cout.-ators have taken advantage of the stoppage to make such other alterations and improvements as have suggested themselves during the time the tram has been in motion. These will include the tightening of the main wire, and one or two other minor alterations, upon the completion of which a conclusive trial will be made in the presence of the directors, and the tramway then handed over to the company, the contractors being quite sanguine that the proposed alterations will place the affair in thorough working order. The battery having only been going two days last week there was no cleaning up to-day, and should the tramway be, as expected, .in full working order by Wednesday or Thui'sday next, it will be kept going for the remainder of the week, so as to get a good supply of stone ahead of the battery, when crushing is recommenced next week. The mine looks well, and opinion remains firm as to the ultimate success of the undertaking. j
