INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
+ An adjourned meeting of the Council was held in the Chambers on Wednesday evening last, when there were present the Chairman, and Messrs Williams, Patterson, and raig. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and continued the following business was dealt with : — CORRESPONDENCE INWARDS. From the Education Department, Wellington, requesting the Council to nominate a member of the Gr yaiouth JEligh {School Board, '
Resolved that the consideration of the letter from the Education Department be held over till next meeting. From Daniel McCarthy drawing attention to the unprotected sta'e of his premises through the making of the road near his premises. Engineer instructed to attend to the matter. From Connington and McL-sod asking for the payment of certain extra work performed by them iu Rainy c'reek contract. Proposed by Mr Williams, seconded by Mr i raig and carried that the application of Connington and M'Leod be not entertained. From Denis Doncliffe asking for assistance o enable him to proceed to Victoria. Proposed by Mr Bran nan, seconded by Mr Williams and carried that the application of Donclilfe be not en urtained. From clerk Buller County re tolls on Westport road. The uhairman related the nature of the arrangment come to with the Grey County Council re tolls on Grey— Reef ton road. Proposed by Mr Williams, seconded by Mr Craig and carried, that tenders be called for the construction of a road 6ft wide, commencing at he termination of No. 2 section of road now let to Mr M 'Kenna, and terminating at the road lately constructed by Walsh and party in the Big River. The road to be let in one mile sections, and tenders for that portion as far as Merrijigs to close on Monday, the 12th proximo, at 12 noon, and tenders' for the remaining portion of the road to close in one month from date hereof. Proposed by Mr Patterson, seconded by Mr Willia.ns aud carried, that the sum of £45 be expended in river protection works in the vicinity of Kochfort's property, provided the parties asking for the work to be done pay half the amount to the Council, and that the work be performed under the supervision of the engineer. A number of accounts were then presented and passed for payment, and the Council adjourned.
