Francis, who has been seriously ill for ■ SQme days past, and whose condition on Saturday last was considered .critical, is now improving in health. Madrid, 25. Prince Frederick William of Germany, who arrived here yesterday on a visit to King Alfonso, will remain in this country for three weeks. London, 26. Telegrams have reached here from Madagascar stating that active hostilities have been resumed by the French fleet under Admiral Jolliler. Nohamar, a Coast town, has been bombarded by the French war ships, the principal buildings being ruined, and a number of persons, among whom were five British subjects, have been killed. Jt is feared that the rebels are about to attack the town, and the population, numbering nearly 50,000, are panicstricken, hundreds having already fled from their homes.
