The Inangahua Times, PUBLISHED TRI-WEEKLY. FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 1884.
To-day being Good Iriday, will no doubt be generally observed as a holiday. A man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of being the person who has been prowling about the private houses in the outskirts of the town. On the application of counsel for accused the case was adjourned for eight days. There was an unusually long sitting of the Magistrate's Court yesterday, the adjournment not taking place until nearly 7 p.m. In the case of Walhalla Extended Company v. Wise, for possession of the books of the company, the plaintiffs, after a lengthy hearing, were nonsuited with costs, the Magistrate holding that the extraordinary meeting at which the new directors were appointed had been illegally convened, and that the whole of the proceedings of the meeting were consequently void.
