INAGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the Council was held at the Clianfbers on Wednesday | evening last. Present : The Chairman and Messrs Patterson, Craig. Feelian, and Williams. From the manager of the Colonial bank re County account. From Roxborough and ' otman forcompensation for keeping road in repair. Resolved on the motion of Mr Patterson that the application of Roxborough and N otman be referred to the engineer to report to the next meeting. From John Crvanagh asking for the sum of £1 5s per week assoxton. Resolved on the motion of Mr Patterson that the application be referred to the { cemetery trustees. Resolved that as Mr Frank Hamilton certifies to the correctness of the claim it be granted. Resolved on the motion of the Chairman that the name of Charles Adams be inserted on the Murray roll in lieu of that of Sarah Stockings. Resolved on the motion of ]Ur Williams j | that the amount recommended by the i engineer be paid Alexander Peters, in full ' satisfaction for past and future damages j to his water-race, and also to use his race i for horse traffic. I Resolved on eh« motion of the Chairman, that tenders be invited for the mantenanue <>f the main Grey road, from li'eefton to the Comity boundary, to close on ihe 11th June, and that such tenders < !be dealt with by the Executive Committee. Resolved on the motion of Mr Williams, that in the event of the Grey County Council charging, a license fee on waggons or drays plying between Greymouth ami Reefton, that this Council will charge a greater amount than that charged by the Grey County for such drays or waggons, and that a bye-law be made and approved of by the Council in accordance with the Counties Act, should the Grey County insist in charging such fees. Seconded by Mr Craig. Resolved on the motion of the Chairman, that the scale of tolls to be charged at Smith's punt at Murchison, be the same as those charged' at * roller's ferry at the Landing, and hat such scale be publicly notified. Resolved on the motion of the Chairman, that in the event of the Grey Council insis-t'ng in imposing tolls on the Grey road, that this County abolish the tolls at the Tnangahua Landing, and pay the ferryman an equivalent to his former receipts. Resolved on the motion of Mr Craig, that tenders to close on 11th June be invited for the maintenance for twelve months, of the Murray reek and ankey's Creek road. Resolved on the motion of Mr Patterson,'that the County Chairman proceed to Wellington, to interview the Government on County matters. j Resolved on the motion of Mr Feehan, that tenders, to close on the llth June, be invited for the maintenance of the short track to Boatman's, track from Capleston to the Eureka mine, and Capleston to Specimen Hill mine, for a period of twelve months. Resolved on the motion of Mr Craig, that the engineer report upon the cost of a track from the Murray Creek road near the saddle, to the Ajax mine. The Council then adjourned.
