Received June 12, 10.10 p.m. ./_. v s.l Sydney, 11. j The football match between the New Zealand team and representatives of the western districts, was played at Bathurst yesterday, is considered to have been One of the toughest contests the visitors have yet had. The New Zealanders played their sixth match to-day and scored another victory against the University . and Walleroo clubs combined. During the first half of the game the visitors showed to great advantage, and scored rapidly, but during the second spell the. local men showed much; better form, scoring: about even, .and^fche-play-was very fast on both sides. At the conclusion of the game the scores stood as follows : — New Zealand, twenty-three points ; Combined team, ten. The New Zealanders thus won the match by 13 points. In the House of Assembly last night a vote of want of confidence in the Ministry proposed by Colton was passed on a division by 41 to 18. Bray, Premier, is expected to tender the resignation of the Ministry to the Governor, and it is probable that Colton will be summoned to undertake the task of forming a new Cabinet. Received June 13, 8 p.m. London, 12. The Australian team commenced a cricket match to day against the representatives of Nottingham. The following are the names of the local team: — Wright, Atweli, Barnes, Flower^ Gunn, Scolton, Selby, Shaw, Serman, Lewiebury, and Wright. There was a large attendance of spectators and the weather was splendid. The ground was in good condition and an excellent wicket had been prepared. The Home team went in first, and scored 170. Barnes, b 33, was the highest scorei'. The Australians then went in for their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had lost 2 wickets for 44. Griffen (not out) 22. In the House of Commons the Representation of the People Bill was again under consideration in Committee. An amendment, which had been introduced for the purpose of extending the parliamentary franchise to women was, after debate, negatived on a division, by a majority of 130. Received June 14, 9 p.m. Sydney, 14, The New Zealand football team played their Bth and last match of their tour to-day in this city against a team representing New South Wales. An endeavour was made by the local j Rugby Union to put a stronger team into the field than =was" done in former matches, but the New Zealanders again secured an easy victory, the score when time was called standing as follows : — New Zealand 8 goals and one try. New South Wales nil. In the first half of the game the play was very fast on both sides, showing about equal force, but in' the second spell the local men tired greatly, and succumbed to the vigor of their opponents. Warbrick, Ryan, Robertson and O'Connor particularly distinguished themselves throughout the afternoon by brilliant play. The weather was all that could be desired, and the ground in capital order. The New Zealanders will be entertained at a banquet on Monday evening, when the chair will be taken by Barlow, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Adelaide, 14.
