REEFTON ELECTRIC LIGHT COMPANY.
♦ A meeting of shareholders was held at Dawsou's Hotel, on Wednesday afternoon. Present : Messrs Shaw, Paine. Juice, Salmon, Larkin, Boers, Shepherd, (P.), Jeff, Mirtin, Trennery, Murphy, Irving, Levy, Leo, Hindmarsh, M'Quillan, Caples, Butler, Potts, Wise, Lynch, and Prince. Mr Lynch was voted to the chair. Mr Hankin, the secretary, explained the business. He submitted the memorandum of association, which had been signed by all present, and the whole of the shares in the company had been subscribed for. He thotfxht the tirat business was to proceed with the election of directors. Proposed by Mr Wise, seconded by Mr Cohen.— That there be seven directors to govern and manage the company's business, four to form a quorum. Carried. The following nominations were then received for directors :— Messrs Levy, Irving, Wise, Hindmarsh, and Joice. Mr J. M'Quillan desired to retire in favor of Mr C. Mirtin. Messrs Trennery, Levy and Lee declined to stand. Messrs Cohen, Potts, Irving, Wise, Hindmarsh. Joice and Mirliu were then elected directors. Proposed by Mr T. Smith, seconded by Mr J. Jeff and carried that for the pre ent the manager's salary be 30/- per Week until the company is iv going order. Proposed by Mr P. Butler— That the manager register the company under 11 The Companies Act, 1882," forthwith. The motion was seconded by Mr Caples and carried. Proposed by Mr Potts, seconded by Mr Prince and carried— That the manager procure a Beal for the company. Moved by Mr P. Butler— That the National Bank of New Zealand, Limited, be the bank of the company. The motion was seconded by Mr Cohen and carried. Proposed by Mr Cohen, seconded by Mr Joice that Messrs Lynch and M«ynihan be solicitors to the company — Carried. The minutes were then read and confirmed and the meeting adjourned.
