FINANCIAL NEWS. MR BLAISE'S D ENIAL. ADELAIDE CANNED FRUIT. London, January 30. The leaders of the Liberal parties are not opposed to the issue of one pound bank notes, but the Joint Stock and Private Bank object to the proposal on the ground that it will compel them to hold larger reserves. Tha proposed issue of ten shillings notes against security of silver has been favorably received m financial circles. The Standard m referring to Mr Goschen's speech at Leed3 states there is no ground for believing that bankers' balance would be better maintained under the scheme outlined by the Chancellor.
