THE HUTCHISON-BALANCE LIBEL SUIT.

[ONITSD PBE6S ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, January 8. The New Zealand Herald states that it is likely an action will shortly be tried, m which Mr G. Hutchison, M.H.R., will be plaintiff, and the Hon Mrßallance, Premier, defendant. Mr Ballance, m a speech delivered by him on the question of payment of members, stated that Mr Hutchison had signed a paper asking the Government fo bring m a bill to increase the amount paid. Mr Ballance also printed the statement m his paper, the Wanganui Herald. It is alleged that it is contrary to fact and, therefore libellous, hence the action.
