[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Thames, January 8. An interesting case has been heard here m connection with administration of the Licensing Act. Sergt. Gillies, the local police officer, brought m a c barge against three men for disorderly conduct and refus. ing to leave an hotel on Christmas, at 2 o'clock m the morning. The charge was lodged under clauses 152 and 153 Licensing Act, 1881, but was dismissed by the Justice (after a consultation with the R.ftl.) on the ground that the alleged offence having been committed out of licensed hours, the hotel wagfpr tlje time being a private dwelling.
