HEAVY GERMAN LOSSES

A wireless Russian official message states: After heavy artillery fire, including chemical shells, the Germans occupied portion of the trenches eastward of Plaktanen, south of Riga, but were driven out.
Ten Russian aeroplanes bombed the railway bixildin^s at Kuty, southwest of Syinjuki. French aeroplanes in the"Dobrudja twice bombed a battery northward ol Our seaplanes successfully bpmbed fortifications in the Bosplioriis. ■•;■ In the fighting oh the left bank of t fche i Stokhod on- 3rd and 4th April, trhich ended in our Grossing to the r%lit bank, the troops defending .the bridgehead tost' severely. Only a few seofe men of two regiments reached the right bank. Both the com/tnaiiders were killed. A third regianent lost half of its effectives. Some wounded men of two other regiments survived.
