When the enemy was I crushed at ltomani in August, ' Romani was the railhead. It now 1 appears that the railway has been i. carried 100 miles farther east. The Turkish position on the Beersheba railway, which is their sole line of communication with Syria, is considered untenable. , General Murray's victory also indirectly supports the British from Bagdad and/ the Russians from Kermanshah. It makes Egypt absolutely secure, while a lesson has been taught the Turks that will resound throughout the East. -v
