The Parnell Infanticide.

(united pbkss association.) Auckland, August 22, The inquest on Rosina Smith's alleged child murder cased was resumed to-day. The most important evidence was that of Dr Oobbett, who made the p.Qst_inQrteni-exanai»Atloin J _i».rKl--led to the conclusion that' death was caused by asphyxia, produced by ex-, ternal pressure. No smell of laudanum or other narcotic was detected. The jury returned a verdict to-night that the child died of asphyxia, but by whom caused there was no evidence to show. In the face oi the girl's confession the verdict caused great astonishiuent. The police authorities will charge her before the magistrate with infanticide.
