The Land Board.
A meetiug of the Wellington Waste Laud Board was held on Thursday, when tliere were present — Messrs J. W. A. Marchant, ActingCommissioner (m the chair), Bunny, Mason, an<l Beelham. The schedule of lands sold since last meeting showed that 1701 acres 3 roods 6 perches had I >eon disposed of, the price, realised being £909 12s. An applidation was received from Mr T. King asking to be allowed to transfer his" section at Makuri to Mr J. H. Polter, of Woodville. Granted" on the usual conditions. Messis • Puklowski' and Thims asjked- to be allowed to transfer their section at Arawaru to Mr James Mowlem, Palmorston North, The application was agreed to. Messrs Scales, and Mullins and Messrs B. and T, Sheerin applied to be -allowed to capitalise ihe unpaid instalments on their deferred -payment section*. The applications were gran ted . Mv E. N . . Barraud applied to be allowed to capitalise the unpaid instalments on his deferred payment section and pay off the balance and obtain his Crown, grant. The Ranger reported that Mr Barrcwd. had fulfilled all the conditions, and the Board decided to grant the application, A similar . application was made by Mr D. H. Guthrie, but as the Hanger's report was unfavourable the Board resolved not to accede to the request until all the conditions are complied with. A letter was read from Mr .James Ryan, a deferred payment settler at Kairanga, asking* to be allowed to exchange his section for another not covered with water. The Ranger c or roborated the applicant's statement. The Board decided to reply that the only concession they could make would be to allow him to capitalize his future payments.
