I think it is generally acknowledged that few things are more conducive to the uroxpeiity of a farming community than a good Agricultural Show, and there can he no douM of the benefit a town dciivea from one held m its vicinity. In Hawko's Bay and the Wairarapa;fir«tdass Shows are held annually , -while ' Patea supports one which is "a credit to^its settlers. Surely then two districts like Wanganui and Manawatu, possessing equal advantages and containing far better stock than either of the*c, are hot to be left ont m tbo cold, and their breeders , receite no encouragement m the shape of opportunities to exhibit their stock, because the Wafigahui people have mismanaged the Show m the pant, or have not sufficient energy to carry it ou m the future.
