A Correction.
In last night's issue a typographical blunder was accidentally made m the report of the Police Court proceedings, which we regiet was not noticed and corrected tefore the paper went to press. The charge on which £benezer Dixon was remanded was lunacy^ which word was incorrectly set up as larceny, and the blunder unfortunately escaped tlte notioe of the proof-reader. A rather serious accident happened during the afternoon m the machine-room, and m the confusion which ensued some of the late proofs were somewhat hastily read and corrected. Errors of this kind will sometimes occur even with the most careful management, and m our case nothing could be further from our wish than to add to poor Dixon's present troubles m any way whatever. Those who are acquainted with the poor fellow know thac whatever his faults, no suspicion of any offence ha* ever been entertained of him, or would be believed by anyone m connection with him. We take this, tho earliest opportunity, of correcting the blunder, and at the same time expressing our regret that it should have escaped our attention, and so unfortunately been made pubHe
