Wanganui Education Board.
The ordinary monthly mooting of the aboye body commenced last night, whon there wero present—Messrs G. S. Bridge (Chairman), F. M. Spurdle, Bobbins, W. T. Wood, E. A. Adams, W. Corry and the Rev. J. Ross. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs F. Pirani and F. Y. Lethbridgo. • Public School Teaohors' Salaries—Tho Chairman moved, That this Board protests against such an important measure as the Public School Tcachors' Salaries Bill, which interferes with tho functions, being passed into law so late in tho session, and without allowing the Education Boards time for duo consideration. The motion, which was seconded by Mr Bobbins, was carried, and it was decided to send a copy of the resolution to MrF. Piraui. APPOINTMENTS. 11l Committee the following appointments were made: — Awahou —Appointment of Mr J. C. Clayton, confirmed. Maxwell—Resignation of Bliss Taylor accepted. Bliss G. Lock appointed to the vacancy. Wanganui Girls' —Bliss L. Clinton appointed pupil-teacher. Turakina —Miss D. Rockell appointed pupil-teacher. Terraco Eud—Bliss M. Lassen ap pointed pupil-teacher, and Bliss Gatton transferred from College-street School to Terrace End in place of Miss O'Donnell, transferred to College street. Bulls—Bliss J. Y. Gordon transferred from Marton.
Marton—Mr P. Thomas transferred from Bulls.
Makino Road—Master W. Wrightson appointed cadet. Leave of Absence —Sick leavo was ft-ar.ted to Miss Black (one month), Mr W. 11. Arthur Worsop (one month) and Mr J. R. Law (two weeks)..
Leave of absence to attend College University Examinations was granted to Misses Lavery, Blair and Neilson and Messrs Covaiitry, J. R. Law, H. H. Bicliavdson and J. T. Robson. On resuming, the ordinary business was proceeded with. The reports of tho Building Committee and Reports Committee were adopted. Wanganui District High School—The report of the Board's Committee held over from last meeting, was read, and the adoption was moved by the Chairman, and seconded by Mr Ross. On being put the motion was carried. Hawcra District High School—The report of Committee recommending the conversion of the Hawcra School into a District High School was read and adopted—a portion relating to fees and subjects being omitted. Aramoho—Witli regard to the application of the Aramoho Committee for the removal of the residence in order to increase the play ground. Mr Spurdlc reported and his report was adopted.
