DAIRY BOARD’S POLICY.
IMPROVED ADVANCES. ACTING-CHAIRMAN’S COMMENT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 4. Commenting on the dairy produce advances, the acting-chairman of the Dairy Control Board, Mr J. R. Thacker, says that the improvement definitely disproved the mass propaganda and misrepresentation with which the introduction of the board’s policy had been met. It now transpired that, in connection with the storage of Now Zealand butter, several hundred thousand boxes of New Zealand produce had been held by American speculators as an investment. Tho New Zealand producer had been getting the blame, when he was really the victim. He was satisfied that tho board’s policy would work to the advantage of the consumer as well as the producer.
