DECOMPOSED BODY.

DISCHARGED GUN NEARBY. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dee. 3. The decomposed body of a man was found to-day in an old gumfield about four miles beyond Milford, between the East Coast road and Albans. A receipt with the name of Hewit, dated July 24 last, was found in the clothing. Beside the body was a double-bar-relled twelve-bore gun of Belgian make, one barrel of which had been discharged, and the other containing a cartridge, tho trigger being at fullcock. The man’s head was badly mutilated.
