ANGLICAN CHURCH.

ORDINATION SERVICE. Dr Sprott, Bishop of the Diocese conducted the first ordination service in Wanganui at Christ Church yesterday. Those ordained were Hugh Staples Hamilton as deacon and Hector Sefton Innes Kenny (curate of All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North) and Lewis Agassiz Barnes (curate at Hawera) as priests. The ordination sermon was preached by Archdeacon Creed Meredith and Canon Faneourt, vicar of All Saints’, Palmerston North, Rev. F. N. Kempthorne, vicar of St. Mary’s, Ashhurst, and Rev. E. W. Coles, assisted with the laying on of hands.
