BUNNYTHORPE.
' [From Our- Own Correspondent.] At the monthly meeting of tho Bunnythorpe School Committee there were present: Messrs W. T. Maxwell (chairman), L. Pascoe, F. Burton, J. Scheidt, E. King, W. Eggleton and W. B. Duthie. Correspondence was read from the Wanganui Education Board regarding the Bible in schools and banking accounts, also from the caretaker resigning his position at the end of tho year. It was decided to call applications for the position. The visiting eommitteo reported on tho work carried out during tho month which had nowplaced the grounds in good order. They also recommended a number of improvements. The inspector’s report was received, it being very complimentary to- tho headmaster, Mr J. O. Webber, and his staff, in the general working of tho school; also to the committee in tho general upkeep of tho grounds. _ It was decided to hold tho annual picnic on Friday, December 17th, on tho Recreation Grounds when tho prizes will bo presented; also to present every child with an award book. A committee was sot up to make all arrangements for the sports and luncheon for the chidlren. Tljo matter of holding a parents’ day beforo the school closed for the holidays was left in tho hands of the chairman and headmaster. Before tho meeting adjourned the chairman complimented the headmaster and staff on the excellent report of the inspectors which was very gratifying to tho committee and parents. Accounts totalling £l2 15s were passed for payment.
