DROWNING FATALITY.
ATTEMPT AT RESCUE COMMENDED. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Dec. G. At the inquest concerning the death of Henry Stephen Baker, a wellknown cricketer, who was drowned at tho Tomahawk beach on November 7 tho Coroner commended tiro efforts o, deceased’s six companions who aetoi bravely and carried on their efforts a rescue until tho limits of exhaustio were reached. He commended par ticularly the young woman, Mis Sheila • Ncilson. An Xunpleasapt feature was. the fact that some of the bystanders did not give much assistantwhilst tire girl stood up to lie, shoulders in tho water holding a rope for three men at its end. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned.
