AN ENQUIRY.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—Would it be out of place or too much to ask information as to the financial results accruing from that vast audience who attended the magnificent rendering of that inspiring result of tho genius of Handel. Of course it is known to almost one or two how many the Opera House holds, crowded as it was last night. Had it been anything in the way of a comic opera many would have paid from 8s per head downwards. Had it been an ordinary cinema show then all the upstairs would have paid Is 6d and the downbelows Is ,per head. Now can you tell us the true avei*age per head of last night’s audience and the total proceeds, and how it harmonises with tho above other entertainments. —I am, etc., r *r-, _ INTERESTED. [Mr L. F. de Berry, president of the Palmerston North Choral Society stated to a “Standard” reporter that the society did not desire to publish the amount tajven; he could say, however, that the contributions did not average 6d a head of the audience.]
