GOOD COMPETITION
WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. PRICES BETTER THAN IN NOVEMBER. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. The second Wellington wool sale of the season resulted in a good clearance being effected. Prices, instead of reflecting the five per oent drop shown at the London sales, were an improvement on those in November. All countries were represented and competition was good. The total submitted was 19,481 bales, compared with 25,300 last December. Bidding was keen and general, at least 95 per cent of the offering being sold. Average wools were up a halfpenny and super to one penny. Bradford was the largest buyer, the Continent taking suitable lots. America obtained a fair parcel, the French buyers taking fine pieces and paying almost fleece prices.
