THE TORERE TRAGEDY.
IDENTITY OF THE VICTIM. ACCUSED TAKEN TO GISBORNE. OTOTIKI, Dec. 4. An inquest concerning the victim of the Torere tragedy was held at the Courthouse yesterday before Mr P. A. Crawford, coroner. Mr N. Hodgson represented Sullivan and Detective McLeod appeared for the police. Evidence of identification was given by Henry Middleton, who stated that deceased’s iranie was Jerry "Williamson, not Williams, as had been stated. Witness had known him for 22 years, and had worked with him, but knew nothing of his relatives. Tho inquest was adjourned till December 15.
Sullivan, who is accused of murdering Williamson, was sent to the Gisborne prison yesterday.
