LICENSE CANCELLED.
WIMBLEDON HOTEL TO CLOSE. Owing to the failure of W. Love, licensee of the Wimbledon Hotel, to effect repairs to his premises as required by the Pahiatua Licensing Committee, the license was cancelled by the committee at its meeting at Woodville on Monday, and will expire on December 31st. The application for the renewal of the license originally came before the annual meeting of the committee in June last, when it was adjourned pending repairs to the building. At the September quarterly meeting, the application was again adjourned as the police stated that nothing had been done. At Monday’s meeting it was reported that the repairs ordered were still incomplete, so the committee, after due consideration, decided to cancel tho license. The ’chairman (Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M.) considered that the committee’s instructions had been treated with conteAssociated with Mr Mowlem, S.M., on the bench were Messrs G. J. Goldfinch, A. Ross and J. D. Crowe.
