FELL OVER A CLIFF. I PIG-HUNTER’S ACCIDENT. OPOTIKI, Dec. 6. Stanley Skinner, while out pig-hunt-ing on Saturday, fell down a 30-foot cliff into a creek, sustaining severe abrasions and concussion. One ear w r as nearly torn off. Ho is now progressing favourably in the hospital. ACCIDENT AT THAMES. THAMES, Dec. 6. Two sons of Mr A. E. Court, of Thames, were knocked down on Saturday at the corner of Rolleston and Richmond streets by a motor cycle ridden by Mr L. Griffin, of the Thames borough electrical staff. Mr Griffin was riding his motor cycle carrying a ladder on his shoulder, and, on rounding the corner, ran into the two boys. One boy, Ronald, received injuries to his head and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment, while the other, Douglas, received a shaking. The electrical department recently made a request to the council for the use of the council’s truck to transport its ladders, but the request was refused. The corner where the accident happened is perhaps the worst in Thames, the traffic from both streets being obscured until the corner is reached. MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. MOTOR CYCLIST’S EXPERIENCE. TAIHAPE, Dec. 6. A motor cyclist had a miraculous escape from serious injury. Mr K. F. Kenny, when negotiating the “silent policeman” in Mam street, lost control and collided with a verandah post. He was thrown clear on to the footpath, and suffered only slight bruises and shock.
