THEOLOGIAN’S CLAIM.

ANCIENT GLASS CUP. LONDON, Dec. 1. - The Westminster Gazette says that a controversy is likely to rage round the reported discovery of the identical first century glass cup from which Christ drank at the Last Supper. The owner, Dr. James Rendel Harris, Curator of Manuscripts at the John Ryland’s library, Manchester, and the author of innumerable works based on the scriptjures, bought the cup for a high price from its discoverer, a German archaeologist, who unearthed it in the Crimea. The cup is a golden yellow, and was probably made in one of the glass factories of Sidon. It is nearly 4\ inches high, and is shaped like the lanterns used in garden party decorations. ’ It bears a .Greek inscription. The cup is carefully guarded.
