VANCOUVER, Dec. 7. _ It is reported from Sault Ste Marie that the ten vessels imprisoned in the ice in St. Mary’s river, have been liberated, but many others are still held up.—A. and N.Z. cable. CLEAR OF THE ICE. Received December 8, 10.5 a.m, NEW YORK, Dec. 7. A fleet of upbound freighters cleared the ice at Salut St. Marie on Tuesday morning and 65 downward bound, grain laden vessels commenced to move. It is expected that all will be clear by evening.—A. and N.Z. cable. EIGHT OF CREW DROWNED. Received December 8, 10.5 a.m. ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland) Dec. 7. Eight members of the crew of the schooner Ella M. Rudolph were drowned when the vessel drove ashore at Brook Covo on Monday evening in a terrific storm. —A. and N.Z. cable.
